 Inspired by Virginia Woolf’s A Room of One’s Own, this project explores the idea of “boxes” in life—both the ones we live in and the ones we create for ourselves. We literally live in box-shaped spaces: apartments, incubators, rooms, and eventually, coffins. But we also put our thoughts and lives into boxes that can feel hard to escape.

 I wanted to visualize these thoughts about life and boxes in a simple, free-flowing way through 2D animation. I used Adobe Animate for the first time and fell in love with frame-by-frame drawing and the creative process of 2D work. This project opened up a new passion for me and helped me see animation as a way to explore big ideas with simple visuals.
