Al Dente Unbound, 2025
*Completion Excepted 02/2025

Al Dante Unbound was born from my fascination with how societal expectations shape our identities, often boxing us into predefined roles—like noodles waiting to be consumed. I chose noodles as the centerpiece not just because they’re a staple in my everyday life, but also because they come in countless shapes and sizes while staying simple and approachable. That versatility felt like the perfect metaphor for a story about embracing imperfection and breaking free from rigid molds.

I mixed in humor and satire to keep it playful, because at the end of the day, I want the film to feel as comforting (and a bit surprising) as a really good bowl of pasta—even as it nudges us to rethink how we let society define us.

At this point in the process, I was laying out rough storyboards and experimenting with different color palettes to spark new ideas. Each quick sketch and test palette helped shape the look and feel of Al Dante Unbound, giving me a clearer vision of how everything would come together in the final film.
